Gil Grand and Jake Mathews

Jake Mathews is a Canadian country artist who has enjoyed great success at radio with numerous top 20 hits and has received several Canadian Country Music Award nominations.
Having toured throughout Canada, Jake has also had the opportunity to take his music to an international stage. In recent years he has performed in Korea, Japan, New York, London, Berlin and Australia.
He released his album titled “Red Tail Lights” in July of 2011 and the first single “If I Had It My Way” was one of the TOP 5 most played songs of the year and spent 36 weeks on the chart Appearances. Jake’s most current radio hits “Beer Necessities” and “A Woman and a Song” are included on his 4th studio album titled “In Our Own Backyard” which was released in May of 2015.
As a songwriter, Jake has written 12 top 40 singles including his top 10 hit “If I Had It My Way” and has had over 60 songs recorded by artists in both Canada and the US.
Jake is currently in the studio working on some new music with a single planned for the summer of 2017.

Gil Grand’s music career started when he began entering and winning national talent competions. The Canadian Open Country Singing Contest held in Simcoe Ontario Canada, provided Grand with an opportunity to showcase his vocal abilities at an elite level. After winning the Male Open Class three consecutives years, Gil Grand earned the honor of having his name placed on a plaque, which now hangs in the Canadian Country Muisc Hall of Fame. The strength of this success would eventually lead to touring the United States and Canada as a recording artist on Sony Nashville’s Monument Records with label mates The Dixie Chicks. Not only did he co-write most of the songs on his debut record, but he also landed a cut on MCA recording artist Tracy Byrd’s I’m From the Country album and the title track on Virgin recording artist Jerry Kilgore’s debut project called Love Trip. Gil Grand has had a long standing productive career as a Nashville based songwriter, record producer and music publisher receiving awards for Sesac’s Song of the Year “Tomorrow,” which was a Number One hit recorded by Chris Young, along with Top 30 radio hit single, “I Want My Life Back,” for Bucky Covington. Grand has been highly acclaimed in Canada receiving multiple CCMA (Canadian Country Music Awards) awards and nominations including Rising Star of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Record Producer of the Year and Music Publisher of the Year.
