The Country has its name for two reasons. First, the owner of the bar was born and raised in Washington, DC, the capitol of this great country. Second, country music is what put Nashville on the map as the Music City. The bar was named as a double-entendre to give a nod to both our great nation and the musical roots of our dynamic city. Some of you may have already figured out the hidden song in our logo…
At The Country, we honor all types of music. Although we have many talented country artists on our stage, we have just as many musicians perform other genres. It has been exciting to be able to celebrate musical talent in all forms, and we will continue to do so.
So come see us. And if you’re a musician, from gospel, to rhythm and blues, to indie rock, you are welcome on our stage.
The Country has an interior space of around 2200 square feet in the front of house. Our stage is 215 square feet, and we have a house drum kit made by Pearl right here in Nashville. We have around 70 seats inside, and for larger events we can easily hold 250 people standing. When weather permits, we can open the large garage door to our front patio that holds another 40 people seated, 100 people total. For smaller shows, the room feels full with 50-100 people, but we can easily accommodate up to 350 including the patio.
